MACOM reviews

Worked for MACOM for over 10 years and it was a much better company before the current owners took over. Constant layoffs as more and more manufacturing jobs are moved offshore. No raises in eight years but management continued to get their bonuses. No chance of advancement unless you're a member of the "good old boys club". Lots of money spent on new product development with no clear-cut objective and very minimal results in sales. Management is extremely top-heavy. Management rules by intimidation and only cares about the quarterly results and and increasing the stock price for their bonuses.

Poor planning, abusive towards employees, rule by intimidation and backstabbing. It has nothing to with what you know but who you know. Very archaic and primitive workflow, some refer to management as cavepeople. People with many years in can do no wrong regardless of their incompetency or lack of productivity. The place is like walking on eggshell as you have to be very mindful of what you say to any individual. Suggestions for improvement are not well received at all.
