      You might move within the company and throughout the globe, finding always new challenges as a professional.

      Cons

      Money is not good. Local administrators can't do much for their countries, HQ gives the orders without the right intel. And the industry is going through rough times.

      A company with a culture challenge

      Pros

      Great travel opportunities. Lots of change - so if you like being able to move cross-functionally into different departments and fields, you can do this quite easily. Some really nice international teams to work with - my last department of 30 people had over 20 nationalities, which was really lovely to be a part of. If you work in middle management and above, you will be exposed to some large projects which span across continents, so good for your experience. There are also many problems within the company's processes and systems which, on a positive note, will expose you to many opportunities to develop fixes, solve problems and learn from people who are doing the same. There is a solid focus on process improvement and getting a number of greenbelts trained and released into the business.

      Cons

      Management culture is a problem. Limited diversity in terms of male:female in top management. Also limited amount of non-Danes in top management. Company is also experiencing numerous retrenchment processes over the years, largely due to middle and top management bureaucracy, and numerous business critical systems which don't communicate with each other. During my 7 years in the company, I experienced 3 large-scale retrenchments. Once is understandable, but this company continues to make the same mistakes during each cycle, without really learning from the issues. Unless you are high level management, they will not pay for your continued education in most countries, so be aware of that.

      Pros

      Very good company if you wish to learn about the shipping industry. Really a thought leader. Where many talented people work. Very international

      Cons

      Too many captains on the ship. It is not easy to make the difference as there are many different departments and managers responsible for only as small part of the firm. There have been many restructurings
