I absolutely love working for MBK. I feel like I have found my dream job and I am confident that this is the job I will have until I retire (I've got at least another 15 years). I feel so lucky to work side by side with a great group of leaders at our home office and also in our senior communities.
I’ve worked at MBK for three and a half years now. I knew during the interview process that it was going to be a great company to work for and I still feel the same today. MBK really invests in developing their team members through strong onboarding programs, monthly soft skills training and mentorship programs. Last month we had special training on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which given our social climate was very enlightening. One of the things I love most about MBK is their commitment to volunteerism and doing “the good work”. Since joining the team, I’ve been able to participate in volunteer events and drives for the YMCA, The Boys and Girls Club of America, The Jesse Reese Foundation (NEGU), Together We Rise, The Orange County Food Bank and The Alzheimer's Association. MBK has a charitable match program too, which I think is pretty cool. It allows me to provide extra support to the charities that are near and dear to my heart.
I have been so impressed by how MBK has handled the covid 19 pandemic. At home office, the transition to working from home back in March was seamless. It all happened so quickly, but there was no panic. Everyone was sent home with a laptop, VPN connection, remote support, office supplies, Zoom accounts, DocuSign, etc. Whatever we needed! Most days I feel like we are even more efficient from home than we were in person. The home office was also very proactive in sending PPE to the communities to help protect our seniors and team members. There was an endless supply of gowns, masks, face shields, hand sanitizer, etc. coming in and out the door. It felt like the team was working around the clock to make this happen. The regional and executive teams were always available for questions and concerns in the community. This was new territory, but systems were put in place quickly. Supporting our health care workers emotionally and physically is a huge focus.
MBK really does feel like family. During the pandemic, we’ve had a Zoom wedding, five or six baby showers, countless social hours and even a drive by birthday celebration. We’re still together as a team, just not in the same building. I look forward to returning to the office though. I miss seeing everyone in real life!
