      No advancement path if your not one of the good old boys forget it.. Be prepared to cover your back side because your immediate supervisor will not help you

      The availability of sick leave is not feasible. Advancement is only available depending on the department needs, advancement can be blocked if available position leaves another position vacant.

      Pros

      They pay for school. I have almost completed my FNP without paying a penny. Most people are in school so management is very accommodating. Good units to work on are the hematology units. Surgery floors are less funded. Amazing patient nurse ratio. 1:4 on med surg; 1:2 or 3 hematology units.

      Cons

      Very focused on customer service- sometimes to the detriment of patient care. Still very nursing centered, but has lessened over the years. Don't work in the ICU- very depressing. Basically torturing people who should be in hospice.
