Pros
The best thing is benefits are free to the employee and you only pay for dependents covered on your plan.
Cons
I was offered the opportunity a month in advance and communicated with managements quite often and no one ever mentioned how horrible the parking is for MD Anderson. Everything includes a waiting list. The manager's main focus was me being comfortable with the commute but completed omitted the issues with parking so I was forced to park 1 mile away, using my personal privileges and walk 20 minutes to and from my car daily. Sometimes weather was an issue. The manager offered zero assistance with parking and intentionally omitted the MD Anderson parking issues. It felt like a conniving, "dont ask, dont tell" type of situation. Attempting to make sure the employee is able to fully commit to the position is necessary BUT completely omitting issues with parking and ignoring the employees request for parking assistance is a stab at leadership's integrity beyond their MD Anderson position. There were daily hurdles to jump to make it into work and a lot of it was omitted. The director of the department and HR consultants were also no help. Compared to other TMC parking, MD Anderson, by far has the worst parking I have seen in 15 years and with all the funding and assistance they received, you'd assume it was at least comparable to neighboring entities but it is not. Not only this but with one of my paychecks. It was mailed to me and disputed without explanation or notice. More than 1 week later I found out payroll miscalculated my work hours. Anyone applying, ask questions. The manager is horrible and she was able to carry on as such because of her manager's/director and HR's response to her behaviors. I pray all managers are not this way.
