      Pros

      Free health insurance. The amount of PTO earned per pay period is very good.

      Cons

      MD Anderson does not compare well in compensation for administrative positions to other employers in the Medical Center nor in other industries (Oi l& Gas, Technology, Law).

      Pros

      They offer fantastic benefits, competitive salary, great PTO that increases with number of years of state service, good work/life balance, good opportunities for advancement, free gym access, including group classes, good management that listens, you are rewarded for good work.

      Cons

      Parking is expensive (it's charged on a tiered level: the larger your salary, the higher your parking costs) & in high demand. If you can take Metro, or don't mind parking in a garage further away & taking the MDA shuttle, it will save you a lot of money. Dr. DiPinho really screwed the institution by being overly cocky & not listening to recommendations & warnings from others which cost MDA over $600M in losses in just a few months, which cost almost 1000 really great people to lose their jobs through no fault of their own. Hopefully they will find a better replacement for him.
