Gen Z beware.

Pros

Great retirement benefits between their 401k matchup and 401B

Cons

New system of job tiers is not competitive with other firms these days. The matrix for compensation and rewards is based on publications instead of making a difference. There is an obvious age discrimination in the departments. Gen Z beware. You will struggle here.

Pros

Excellent opportunities to learn and expand your skillset. Work life balance is unparalleled in the industry. Fantastic opportunities to move around within the company and increase your exposure to skills and fields. Mission of overall corporation is admirable, but can get lost as it filters down to delivered products.

Cons

Management does not remember what it was like to be an engineer, and has unreasonable expectations. Interaction with clients depends largely upon their industry, as MITRE bridges most of the major industries. Frequent changes in evaluation metrics lead to confusion on what matters most to management both for delivered product and promotion potential. Promotions seem to be tied to items employees often have little control over.
