Wonderful benefits up to 5 years ago. Flexible hours. Interesting work and projects

Cons

Corporate culture declined Although they try to be diverse and inclusive, the tend to miss the mark. CEO is clueless or doesn't care about employees. Major change in medical benefits less favorable among employees

Pros

-Interesting projects, talented workforce -Great work-life balance and flexibility. Consistently working overtime is very discouraged. People really respect your days off and are very flexible if you have other obligations -Good local leadership. Group leaders are very understanding and accessible. -Plenty of opportunities and tools to learn new skills -Lots of great resources for new employees and early career professionals -Campus is nice and infrastructure is kept up to date

Cons

-Your ability to find steady funding and interesting projects depends on your group leader and network (its difficult for new/junior employees to be aware of the best opportunities and it can be a source of stress trying to find coverage) -Recent decline in benefits and uncertainty about the health of the company really making morale take a hit -Senior leadership seems disconnected and gives a lot of mixed signals

Cons

MITRE does not appreciate tenured engineers and other dedicated staff. Reduced PTO and holidays to make budget they failed to forecast.
