Pros

Excellent company with great benefits and many opportunities. It was generally staffed with extremely intelligent professionals.

Cons

I found the company to be quite top heavy with "management" with generally too much emphasis on documentation. I prefer work that is more technical in nature.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review! We are currently working on a technical career path initiative to clarify a path for those interested in advancing their career without moving into management.

Pros

The people are welcoming. Facilities are nice. Everything is just plain good. Nothing outstanding, but nothing wrong either. A solid place to build a career in research.

Cons

-Not competitive pay -Very structured (could also be plus) -You can get stuck in military work but that's not MITRE's fault

We're glad to hear things are going well. If you're interested in working with government sponsors outside of the Department of Defense, such as the FAA, Department of Treasury, or Department of Health and Human Services, there are many opportunities to do so. We encourage you to speak with your manager to explore the possibilities.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We work to offer an inclusive atmosphere for all employees. For example, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is honoring our CEO, Alfred Grasso, for his work to create and develop programs for women to make them feel recognized, respected, and welcomed. We have established corporate memberships with SWE and other organizations that offer our female engineers a chance to further their professional development, network with others, participate in special training and conferences, and showcase their technical work to a broader audience. We also recently created a yearlong leadership training program for female employees that is offered through the Office of Inclusion and Diversity. MITRE also hosts an annual Young Women in Engineering Day, which encourages middle and high-school aged girls to consider engineering careers.
