      Pros

      - On paper, MITRE is a good idea. Serving the government as an apolitical advisor would be a good idea.

      Cons

      - MITRE is trying to be political and push their own political agenda. - Hostility toward coworkers. - Push to return to the office in the middle of a pandemic. - Management trying to create "culture" while having no clue what goes on below the SVP level.

      Pros

      * Good work/life balance in most departments * Can learn a lot working here, as you get to work with a lot of seasoned and educated cyber professionals * There are opportunities to switch up the work you do within the company, to meet your desires * Historically this is a very respectable employer that does a lot of great research * Pretty good benefits

      Cons

      * Management is incredibly preoccupied with being politically correct, and it invades every aspect of work life now. It is very hard to keep one's head down and get real work done for sponsors, because of all the distractions. * Some of the research they are involved in now is in an ethical gray area * Constantly changing guidance and rules from management causes confusion and is discouraging * There is a lot of discrimination against people that might voice opinions that run contrary to management

      Pros

      If you want to work for mobsters from New Jersey then you will be at home amongst the senior "leadership". Super smart people at the worker level and first tier management.

      Cons

      "Smart growth" Vaccine mandate (overturned by courts but MITRE till charging forward) Mitre made no attempt to defend employees from an obviously unconstitutional policy from the dear leader. Other employers in the DC area have gone to bat for staff... Not Mitre. Equity re-education just started again. Yay! Medical benefits have declines every year since Eatontown took over. Options declined to nothing and cost increased with the passage of Affordable Care Act which leadership vocally welcomed.
