Pros

We do important work and the mission is what keeps me there. It’s work that seriously isn’t done elsewhere.

Cons

It’s just a shame the entire leadership team has made all the wrong decisions squandering a good opportunity because they were too focused on growth but not on GOOD growth.

Pros

Dedicated managers Interesting work (if you can find an open spot on a project) Some good benefits (until they cut those too)

Cons

Benefits being cut every few weeks/months Leadership constantly flip flopping on official policy with no warning Several rounds of layoffs in the past 1-2 years Hard to find projects

Pros

When project and coworkers are good things can be great

Cons

Past 5 years MITRE has just gotten worse and worse. The CEO and senior leadership have plotted a course for MITRE and are full-speed ahead no matter the impact on the work or staff. Everything is falling apart. Drastic cuts to essential services and lack of support in core capabilities and security. Constant hiring and pushes for growth and revenue are causing everything to burst at the seams. Drastic cuts in benefits especially for loyal staff while the company does the best it has ever done. People can't find work and are running around constantly begging for a charge code. They are extremely resistant to removing terrible staff so these nightmares are shuffled around from project to project and tax the teams and management heavily. A two-tiered system where the leadership that keeps floundering and failing gets higher raises and bonuses on top of their already higher salaries. Where is the accountability and why is there a pay escape velocity at level 5+?
