Pros

Good work life balance. Many people get paid well for PowerPoint engineering. MITRE is great at branding and double speak.

Cons

Constant change. In three years I’ve been reorged 3 times, been through 3 admins, and 2 group leads. We keep hiring, yet there is not enough direct work, so we have to charge overhead. Now our fringe rate is too high so our benefits are being reduced.

Disappointed in SENIOR Leadership

Pros

Culture of sharing information and mentoring those at lower levels than yourself. Love the aspect of doing work that is in support of the Department of Defense. Love my local leadership and coworkers at my site.

Cons

Senior leadership, senior leadership, senior leadership. They constantly make decisions that are forcing out those employees with 10+ years on the job in favor of the cheaper new employees who have little to no knowledge or experience. They constantly lie to employees saying the company is healthy...but we have to somehow cut your benefits because they need to limit costs. The lie saying that need cut these benefits in order to limit costs when they keep up stupid programs like free lunches and free snacks/coffee when the empoyee majority base would rather keep their PTO, Retirement, and Raises. They lie when they say benefits are remaining either competitive in some cases and leading in others when the companies average salary raise in FY22 was LOWER than INFLATION. They make these broad decisions that affect their employees greatly without ever polling to see interest and desire. There is no place to provide feedback for senior leadership (only local leadership which predominantly employees really like). The CEO is extremely liberal and very nasty. He says some really foolish things in his CEO calls to the company and scoffs at any critique given him.
