Pros

Most coworkers are cool. LDT are frequent and can be fun. There will always be OT.

Cons

Communication was poor between crews, local management, and corporate. Trucks are on their last legs and are frequently out of service. Maintenance is overworked and understaffed. Local hospitals hate the company and the crews by association. Too many more to list.

Pros

MMT out of Raleigh nc

Cons

Will overwork you, give you points for calling out due to an immediate family member passing, do not offer advancement in work place, definitely discriminate, offer a higher rate of pay for new hires and do not offer evaluation for the employee who have been there well over 5 years, management is scared to speak when needed, will fire you over stepping down from full time to part time due to medical reasons,

Pros

If you’re newly certified, don’t be discouraged from starting with a private EMS company. If you’re planning to further your education, please work with a private company for at LEAST 6 months before you sign your life away to a medic program. It really makes all the difference. Actually work in the field as an EMT so that you can maybe, possibly, become a decent medic. These positions provide an excellent foundation for ambulance operations, patient transport, and effective communication with both patients and hospital staff. This is KEY. Just be aware that burnout can come quickly, so recognize when it’s time to take a step back or move on to a new role. Don’t listen to anyone who talks down about private EMS, those who have done it as well as your future employers will have tons more respect for you knowing you have that experience. Pay isn’t too bad to start out with either.

Cons

Interfacility transport. High call volume, burnout, occasional never ending shifts, psych patients, burnout, working with those who got their certs out of a cereal box, back pain. burnout, etc.
