Pros

Experience, but it's mediocre at best. Benefits are decent. Gets you patient experience. Newer equipment. Certifications are paid for by the company.

Cons

CEO is a complete D-bag. I would never work for him again nor would most people I know. Not worth your time, most serious healthcare companies laugh at this "paramedic" work experience.

High pay, not much else

Pros

Highest pay for ambulance company in the Northeast Ohio area. Unlimited overtime available due to inadequate staffing. Flexible scheduling, multiple scheduling options available. Shifts go by fast due to high call load. Being held over on calls tends to be rare.

Cons

Ambulances in very bad shape. Almost every ambulance has several issues, when taken out of service issues get marked as fixed but are very rarely actually fixed. Most ambulances are 350,000+ miles. Benefits/insurance are some of the worst I've seen in a decade plus in this industry. Equipment is falling apart, if available at all. Trucks are frequently missing mission critical equipment such as pumps and monitors. Nonstop pace. Calls will constantly be given to you throughout your shift, if you do not pace yourself dispatch will run you into the ground. Very little to absolutely zero medical knowledge from dispatch and call takers. Leads to completely wrong information given during calls. Frequently given wrong address for destinations as well. High turnover and constant pace leads to burnout among employees, low morale. Very little incentive to work harder/faster as the only reward for doing a great job is more work. Supervisors will constantly call/text you on your day off to ask you to work due to inadequate staffing.
