Pros

Free food. Great office. Good company to have in your CV.

Cons

Aggresive micromanagement disguised as agile. People suddenly disappear and you never hear from them again. Codebase is terrible and while they promise you fixing tech debt is a priority, other work is pushed to teams leaving them no time to fix anything.

Pros

Great kitchen, lounge, food and entertainment facilities. You can use any sort of equipment for your software development needs. A lot of talented developers there who you can learn from if you are at a junior or mid-level position. Great support from IT and Infrastructure teams. Good banter in the tech department. A fairly generous training / conference budget.

Cons

The legacy code base is not being dealt with pro-actively. Business priorities are constantly changing; resulting in dev teams changing tack with projects or having to shelve other pieces of work, which can be demoralizing. Quads system seems to add more bureaucracy than solving the fundamental issues of cross team collaboration. A lot of pseudo-science business and management concepts are creeping in.

Pros

- Flexible, stable and pays very well. - You will meet and work with great people who are quite diverse and interesting. - Fantastic office in an underappreciated area of London (Farringdon). - You're not forced to use a Mac. - People always up for some banter after work. - Excellent IT support crew to give you all the gear you could possibly need.

Cons

- Massive legacy codebase that nobody understands because the people that built it have all left. - Migration to newer systems is slow and painful. - Top level decisions predominately driven by sales and marketing, rather than product/UX/engineering. - No stock options.
