Pros

MacPractice has a wonderful company atmosphere and culture. It really feels like a family. If you're just getting your career started you will feel at home here. You will be given plenty of challenges along the way but if you can succeed you will be recognized. Major changes to upper level management have created a much smoother running software department with a renewed focus on completing projects and reaching goals. Working with the Apple iOS/MacOS SDK is something I'm going to miss, they have been really nice to me over the years.

Cons

The middle management has been historically poor, and is why many of the company's most skilled engineers are leaving. The salary lags way behind standards being set by software companies in Lincoln. Coding standards have been steadily degrading over the years and the stability of the main app is suffering greatly. The health of the company is somewhat of an unknown in 2020 with corona virus hitting and big changes to company ownership.

Pros

Benefits are good, 401k match, cheap gym on site, casual about making up hours, casual dress code. Okay as a starting place but don't expect advancement.

Cons

Poor management and communication makes everything miserable. Pay is rock bottom, raises are rare and minimal, cost of living raises were frozen years ago and never reinstated. Management seems comfortable with the crazy turnover of dissatisfied employees. They wait until someone gets sick of it and leaves then hire someone new for the same low wages. You can make twice as much anywhere else.
