Sales goals encourage competition between employees with the customer in the middle. Almost no advancement opportunity except for "promotion" to full time or commissioned associate. No commission except for select departments; commissioned departments have low commission 1% or less. Some commissioned departments have monthly draw where employee technically owes Macy's money before they can accumulate commission.
