Pros
(These comments apply if you're looking to be a dev, tech lead, qa, systems analyst, or product manager) * If you are on a team with a great director/manager, you'll get to do great work on fun technology with good process support and feel appreciated. * Work/life balance culture is good--you can leave at 5 without feeling like a slacker * summer fridays! * no shortage of meaningful work! growing like gangbusters. * mature agile process for a bigcorp. we don't have dogs deploying code, but we have (mostly) good PMs doing the scrummaster thing, good user stories, environments, CI, etc.
Cons
* politics, both micro and macro. If you're not a manager you'll be mostly shielded from it, but nonsensical/frustrating things will happen to your projects and colleagues * project process can feel s..l...o....w. This is not a place where "move fast, break things" applies. * relationship with corp technology in atlanta is fraught--vast cultural differences * QA automation immature (but improving) * low pay for the SF market * talent varies wildly--some stars, some dead weight, some downright incompetence. This extends to management as well! * someone has let loose the six-sigma-mba types and they are wreaking havoc with the orgchart, and in a bad way * typical bigCo heavyweight administrative overhead (process, hr, budgeting, etc)
