      Pros

      Remote, flexible work schedule. Good movement between departments and good room for growth. Professional development is paid for.

      Cons

      Not profit employees means 2% pay increases every year vs cost of living increase. C-suite and above alway get bonuses and significant raises. Insurance is more expensive than my previous employes of under 100 employees.

      Pros

      Will gain a variety of experience from back country rescue, rural, suburban and more populated Areas. This is a larger regionalized service with a lot of support from being a hospital based service. Good equipment and most of the bases are pretty nice. Good people working here and there are still a few old-timers there you can learn from.

      Cons

      Being a rural state, the hospitals are far and few between. This means there are long transport times and a lot of transfers. The transfers can be a bit of a meat grinder and the company is known for forcing crews to take long distance transfers 23 hours into a 24 hour shift. They also like to scream poverty to avoid increasing salaries until morale declines and people star fleeing. Then they do a big salary update and give large pay raises to attract new employees. Unfortunately they give the large increases to new hires and lower license levels. This creates salary compression and angers all the long term employees, prompting them to leave for better paying jobs. This in turn drains the experience and talent from the company and takes years to recover. I’ve been watching the same pattern for 20 years…

      Too many corporate roles that are out of touch with the people doing the work.
