Pros

Benefits offered are good. There use to be opportunities to advance until they started terminating positions.

Cons

Management is terrible. They get rid of employees who have been there and have positive relationships with customers in exchange for cheaper labor. They always look for ways to cut costs but NEVER once discussed how to increase the business and improve customer service. Management used the economy as an excuse for the poor performance of the auction and employee layoffs. Poor evaluation reviews. Department managers seem afraid to hurt employees feelings. They don't give timely feedback and when they do it is not helpful. Most of the department managers lack management skills and education. The GM/AGM had nearly no contact with employees. They seemed to go through department managers to communicate with lower level employees. Its like they wanted this wall between them as senior managers and the lower level employees.

A sinking ship that nobody wanted to talk about.

Pros

Flexibility in getting time off but that was due to lack of work. Good benefits. Health, dental, life, sick, paid holidays. Weekends and evenings off for the most part.

Cons

Auction site general manager and assistant general manager very incompetent. Very unattached to the employees under them. Showed excessive favoritism. Gave promotions to those who sucked up the most (IE the technology manager knew NOTHING about hardware, software, or IT systems used to be a part time picture taker for online inventory). Couldn't follow through on commitments to employees. Wouldn't communicate directly with employees, had to find things out through the grape vine. Didn't enforce corporate policies in regards to job postings and opportunities. Laid off smart, hard working employees that were paid less than older, lazy, employees. Didn't cultivate talented, capable employees.

Pros

Manheim could be a great place to work! It really is some good people there that care about each other very much!

Cons

Unfortunately, the people that care about each other the most are people in the field....the connection with the field and corporate lacks the respect level necessary to be affective. Dean Eisner is a good guy in my opinion that has a great smile to give you when he sees you! His team filters way too much information that affects the whole company.....Dean cannot get the truth from anyone! Therefore, nothing ever really gets done.....Things get started, never measured with no accountablibility.....
