Pros

Pay is high for the area, but they may not be able to sustain that. The kids are lovely. I met some fabulous fellow teachers.

Cons

Pretty much everything else. Education suffers at scale for its bloated administration staffing, but after over a decade in the field, I’ve never seen a district as overstuffed on admin as this one. There are many amazing people at the building level, but it doesn’t make up for the incompetence of leadership.

Very unpleasant place to work

Pros

The salary is good and class sizes are small.

Cons

This was an unbelievably toxic workplace. Admin turnover is high, teachers are undermined when disciplining students, there is an "in group" and "out group" of teachers. Coaching is nonexistent. The district is nepotistic and corrupt and teachers are set up for failure rather than success. So are students, for that matter. Destroyed my love of teaching.
