Horrible district to work in

Pros

up-to-date buildings and friendly teacher staff

Cons

There is not enough support for new teachers. The teacher, administrator, and student turn-over rate in Mapleton is absurd. My director does not care about helping newer teachers to grow in this profession. Instead of working with the staff she already has to make them better, she would rather just get rid of them because it is easier. The pay is not great either.

Pros

Okay pay for teaching compared to other districts.

Cons

Combat pay. Kids are disrespectful district wide. Good old boy club for admin and district level. Administration is afraid to suspend because they don’t want To look bad in the eyes of CDE. Kids have no consequences for poor behavior .
