It was a steady job and the pay was decent

Cons

Management did not care at all about lower-level employees and hiring/promotion decisions were often nonsensical, resulting in extremely unqualified people being in high positions You will also be expected to work Saturdays and evenings and often drive around to people's houses by yourself to collect late payments.

Thank you for your review. During holidays and peak business days of the month, Saturdays and evenings are possible in this industry to help better serve our customers. We always make decisions we feel are in the best interest of the business and employees that they will be leading. This is why the company has implemented a policy that prohibits the field visit aspect of the collection process. This was implemented one year ago, and if there are any violations of policy, HR has an open door policy on reporting these instances. A very healthy work environment! Mariner Finance is one big family with the focus on their customers. Colleagues are inspiring, flexible and a pleasure to work with. There is a lot of room for new ideas in this rapidly growing company.

Pros

I work in HQ, the attitude is more laid back then the branches. There are engagement activities like food trucks and other fun breaks. I work as part of a team and everyone is encouraged to speak their mind. All opinions are valued. I feel challenged and valued. I feel like I'm being fairly compensated and the benefits are great.

Cons

The company is currently growing rapidly and past of several pilot programs. Sometimes it makes me worry these pilot programs aren't going to work and people may be let go, I feel a bit uncertain in my role. Also, we're being asked to do a lot of things that were not part of our job description going in because so many things are up in the air.
