Pros

Lot's of opportunity for challenging work to grow your skills and make a contribution with high impact to the firm. Very professional work environment. Good career mobility with many different operating companies under the MMC brand. Good benefits with flexible working arrangements.

Cons

Big complex organization can take a lot of time to assimilate and become known. Base salary growth barely keeps up with inflation. High workloads.

Completely agree with the comment on being a big complex organization -something we need to 'fight' continually. This is one of the reason we introduced "Colleague Connect", the enterprise colleague intranet. But there is tons more we can do.

Pros

Management is willing invest in continuing education, however, be aware that it is expected to be completed on your own time.

Cons

Poor middle management, lack of transparency on decisions, performance review process is biased and not focused on merits, lack of investment in resources to help you do your job well, organization-wide/systemic problem, and opportunity for advancement is minimal at best. Overall, culture is selfish and focused on results only.

Pros

Good credential in the market

Cons

DO NOT join Marsh! Why? 1) Micro Management 2) Lack of Planning / Direction from Management and Leaders - so hiring qualified (over-qualified resources) and then layoffs - ultimately putting employees / contractors careers in risk 3) MARSH IT / Business Team - doesn't know which direction they are going in 4) No appreciation at all for the sincere efforts put in by associates 5) No flexibility at all in terms of flex hours / flex location work
