Pros

The pay was above average compared to other big box retailers but the hours were worse. My store manager required us to stay till he left for the day regardless of when we got there. This resulted in 55-60 hour work weeks for the Assistant's while he worked 40.

Cons

The long hours made it difficult and working in a clothing retail chain is absolutely different than any other big box retailer.

Pros

Not required to pressure customers into buying.

Cons

Was hired for one position, but was actually required to do a little bit of everything. As a 45 year old female, it was scary to be unloading truck shipment 2-3 times per week as a part-timer without the option to purchase health insurance. No 3 month review. 0 feedback on job performance during 6 months of employment there. Work schedule for following week was usually posted only the day before it began. Very little training, and it was very haphazard at that. Even with 10+ years of retail under my belt, most of it being management , was only paid an entry level $7 per hour. Employee discount was only 10%.
