Pros

Some of the people are very nice and the work is pretty easy. Nice facilities. Many skilled workers who care about their work. I was very impressed with quality of workers they are able to keep there.

Cons

First off, I can only speak for the supply chain department as this is where I worked. I only lasted 3 months and it seemed like someone was always being reassigned and it seemed like someone quit every week on average. I know both of these things are a part of business but it was definitely more than average at Marvin, much more. It was an environment where people were nervous everyday. Blame was passed around quite a bit as everyone felt like they had to cover their own back. Internally it was unorganized and there was so much unnecessary panic. Material would be lost, and stock levels were often wrong. There would be emails sent out with 20 people in CC for super urgently material only to find out we had plenty in stock. On one occasion because no one read a cert properly they were prepared to stop production 5WKS because they thought a batch of paint was expired. The major red flag came 2 months in when my manager and his boss left on the same day, both because "the commute was too much". Nobody believed a Sr. Manager and Director left on the same day for the same reason. Nobody. After my third month my new manager sent me an email to go to HR where I was notified of my termination due to "poor performance". As I had very good numbers (they charted our performance and posted the numbers openly with our names attached as it "created competition"), several positive remarks (from more than one manager), and no notice of poor performance from my manager, HR immediately sent me home with pay to investigate. I never once received a formal or informal (verbal/written) notice that my performance was poor, or what I needed to do to improve, or that my job was at risk. No decent manager simply sits back and lets you perform poorly without trying to help you improve for your sake and for the company. It was clearly not the real reason. I left my previous company after 6 years, and several promotions. I relocated and wasn't even given a real chance to succeed. Worst decision I have made in my career. Stay away from this company. I could go on more about this but at this point I need to let it go and move on. You've been warned.

Pros

This company is growing organically, and the people here as well as the work culture/environment feels like family. If you're looking for a place to gain real experience in Quality Assurance/Audit then Marvin is the place for you! The company does it's best in giving back to its employees through free lunches, and managers/directors are always asking for your well-being. Sometimes life outside work catches up and things go array, but then the people I work with make it better and understand. The values at Marvin Engineering Company are instilled in the people that work here. Your opinion will always be asked and you will always be listened to. Majority of upper management gives credit, where credit is due, and that feeling is always great and doesn't create distrust or a hostile work environment. The health and dental insurance are great! I've moved to different cities around LA and I'm always able to find top, quality physicians. The company is fine if you have to leave for the doctors as long you communicate to your managers. I've seen employees here who decided to change positions and work in a different department, and this company allows that to happen very smoothly. Other company's would disregard your opinion. Overall, this company looks like it will grow 5x more, and there is a lot of potential to learn and move up, but you need to speak and up let them know that's what you want (just like anything in life).

Cons

The only thing is that some managers need to get real, proper management training. There are so many employees that have worked there way up, but at times they hire from outside and things get sour.
