Pros

Very friendly , employee loving company. People believe in doing the right thing - even if it is time consuming. Good work life balance. Training is very much part of work - and learning is encouraged.

Cons

For just a software developer - the pay seems to be a little lower than below average - but I guess the other perks like bonuses, profit sharing - would make up for that. Sometimes can be very relaxed ...

Pros

Very laid back work environment. Great location. Great benefits. You get to work with very smart people

Cons

Compensation is way below the market standard. Coupled with the living expenses here in Boston, you aren't going to save much. Too many meetings. This leads to slow decision making and also a lot of time wasted. Development processes are not very professional. There is hardly any documentation on internal tools. They expect you to just 'know' how to use things. Some times it feels like you are trying to break into an already established group of friends and are finding it hard to get all the inside jokes. Lack of consistency in coding standards/practices across the company.

Pros

This place is the most rational place I've ever worked. There are no penalties for not being perfect, everyone constantly supports you and moves as a whole towards improving process, product and communication. If you disagree with someone on anything (design, plan, process,) you just say so, give rational reasons why and then work out the best way to moving forward with whatever it is. Combine that with management who actually listen and care about the individuals in the trenches and you have a great place, fun and insane loyalty. Seriously...the CEO is respected and almost idolized. The chief scientist has fanboys at conventions! It's terrific!

Cons

If you like fast-paced startups that turn on a dime, this place is not for you. Not all the teams are "slow", but being rational means being careful and looking at all the angles before taking steps towards a plan. The belief is that there is one "right thing" for every problem. They try very hard to find it each time. That can make progress seem sluggish.
