Pros

MathWorks management actually follows their core values and mission statements. It instill this culture as a part of their extensive internal training. In general, employees are talented and are collaborative. It offers great benefits and perks.

Cons

In Development, the decision making framework is sometimes unclear and sometimes the pace seems slow. The annual review process is cumbersome and long, concentrating on 'areas of improvement.'

Pros

A very stable company with diversified markets. The CEO is highly admired, especially because he established a great company culture. Smart colleagues and good work-life balance.

Cons

Somewhat strict spending policy (for example, no business cards issued unless you have a customer-facing role). Very little opportunity for long-term career advancement.
