      Pros

      It was great working with kids, management was very understanding and accommodating. The pay was really good for the hours as well.

      Cons

      Sometimes the work would get a bit boring. There would be some slow hours where there is not much to do. Other times we were understaffed and it was like juggling a million balls at the same time.

      Mathnasium is a good tutoring company, really cares about the kids. Can be a lot of work though. Great part time job!

      Pros

      I am in school to become a math teacher and it's a great part time job. I work about 9 hours a week. It varies from a few kids to an overwhelming amount of kids. The pay isn't too bad, but I'm in it more for the experience. As long as you're decent at math, it's a pretty easy job and most of the kids are adorable.

      Cons

      You can't survive with this being your only job. It doesn't pay enough to fully support yourself and you probably won't get a whole lot of hours. Since children can come in at any time without making an appointment, you can have times where each tutor is responsible for well over 5 kids. Also, there's not a lot of room for advancement.

      Good at first, then became a daycare

      Pros

      You get to know the students well and it's fun to talk to them and teach them sometimes. Hours and scheduling is fairly flexible.

      Cons

      Instructor sometimes treats you as one of the children. Pay is terrible for a math tutor. At my location, we are short of tutors and the director has signed up a ton of students. So we have basically become a daycare where we can't even teach the students anymore due to the excessive amounts of children to keep track of.
