Poor Leadership...A Company Trying to Find Its Way

Pros

Company has a great "mission." Franchisees are nice people.

Cons

CEO is a poor leader and unable to communicate a vision/direction. Corporate priorities are constantly changing. Employee job descriptions and whether or not one actually still has a job changes each month. Inexperienced senior management (i.e. Chief Financial Officer was an MBA student). Although families are the company's main target audience, the senior management team doesn't have any working mothers.

Challenging manager with inconsistent treatment

Pros

I’m sharing this review mainly as feedback for management. I genuinely enjoyed working with most instructors and students-- it's why I chose to work there, even though I could have taken higher-paying jobs. It was a rewarding job and students and families I worked with were consistently positive and appreciative of my support. Unfortunately, management got in the way of fully enjoying and doing my job, making the environment mentally taxing for me.

Cons

I’ve never had a poor relationship with any other employer, but the manager was a very different story. Despite top qualifications and performance scores, I faced extra scrutiny compared to other employees, was asked personal questions even after saying they were private, and received vague or inconsistent feedback (for example, being told a student cried without knowing what actually happened). I tried hard to maintain patience and professionalism, yet flexibility was offered to others and not to me, and I was asked to resign rather than given direct feedback or support. Oh, and my interview for a minimum-wage position lasted over an hour — while others reportedly had much shorter ones. Experiences may vary depending on management, so prospective employees should be aware.

Pros

The job itself is wonderful, but the cons will tell you what you need to know.

Cons

I’m sure better management could make that place better. Seems to be lots of drama and he said/she said. Don’t work there unless you want to be wrapped into their drama.
