      Store managers care more about the end of the year perks for themselves than the well-being of associates. Those perks being cruises, jewelry, gift cards, etc...

      Pros

      I started when I was 17 and worked my way up really quickly within the store management. I enjoyed my experience with training and development. I learned a lot in this job and it was not commission based. If you are able to get a full-time position the benefits and compensation is really competitive and the benefits are great. I didn't pay much for myself when I had them.

      Cons

      I dislike the nature of never being able to get time off around the holidays but that is retail in general. We had pretty high turnover in this store - The district manager was not very understanding with how well the store was doing in the first few years of opening. I also didn't like that there were such strict standards that had to be met in the store - individuals weren't paid commission and still expected to hit a certain quota.

      Managers work 40 hrs a week. Great benefits and your voice is heard.

      Cons

      District managers have too much freedom . Show up when they feel like, spend a lot of time just shopping and not working with store teams.
