Pros

Insurance is good if you pay for the premium plan. Half Off Merch While on Shift

Cons

Employees aren’t paid a living wage so turnaround is high. As a manager, when turnaround is high, expect 13-20 hour shifts. You are a slave to your phone. Your DMs and RMs will surprise visit your store on your day off and expect you to drop your life and meet them, even if you’ve already worked 13 days straight. Corporate isn’t interested in actual production improvement ideas, rather they want and reward ideas we already do in stores but corporate is so disconnected they don’t know we do them. Or they want recipe ideas. It’s a who you know company. If your DM comes by weekly, or the Regional Manager hangs out at your stores, you’ll probably get a promotion.

Pros

Great opportunity to run multiple stores with minimal supervision. Created self sufficiency with myself, and within the stores I managed. Technology updates are keeping this company at the cutting edge of retail.

Cons

24/365. Very difficult to take PTO, as there is no formal system in place to relieve management when they are gone. Wages in general are poor, and they do not adjust for region or locality;my 40 hour cashiers are not paid enough to cover the cost of rent here. Store directors on up are grossly underpaid for the work they do, and much is required, both on site and off. Communication between stores and corporate office is still terrible.

Pros

Fairly easy work, with some pretty awesome co-workers.

Cons

The point of sales system is extremely riddled with bugs. Bugs that severely affect customers, causing many times of having to calm down angry customers. Company seems to burn through people like a wildfire. In less than a year the store went through 2 store directors, 2 ops managers, 2 leads, and nearly 3 full sets of cashiers. Scheduling is all over the place, expect to work anywhere from night shift to early morning. They do very poorly at accommodating your schedule, even if it's for something such as school, kids, or other jobs. Their policies for bad weather are just atrocious. Many times people were forced to stay at the store to cover shifts for others due to not being able to make it to work, despite the roads closing for those still working, making it impossible to get back home. They refuse to close the store no matter what. Management at the end didn't listen to those under them. Coffee machine nearly burned the store down due to wiring problems? Unplugging it till it gets cold, then plugging it back in isn't the solution (which management had us do, despite my warnings and knowledge of electrical).
