Pros

A lot of hours = a lot of money, good bonus structure, helping people is really rewarding

Cons

They WILL leave highly inexperienced personnel alone with little to no cover. They fired my store manager and left me to run a very busy store by myself while only having a month and a half of experience. Upon moving me from this store, they moved me to a different store that had inexperienced shop workers. As someone who knew very little about the industry going in, it’s like choosing whether to put people’s lives at risk by letting them get work done to their car or let your own metrics suffer

Pros

Weekly pay. Benefits in 90 days. 50k life insurance policy. Looks good on a resume.

Cons

The quality of the talent available to Mavis in the south east appears to be limited. There isn't a background check, drug test or a formal interview process. This results in inexperienced staff, particularly in management. If you have experience you will have a strong advantage, but you will often work with staff that will require coaching and training for the jobs that they are hired for.

Worst Job I’ve Ever Had

Pros

Guaranteed 47 hours weekly Weekly pay

Cons

-Inconsistent standards and training -Store managers are likely inexperienced at leadership and the company doesn’t spend resources on developing the people running the stores -Bonus structure is designed for you to not make commission. Very unattainable unless they understaff and overwork you. Then you’ll get commission, but you’re working harder without an increase in pay rate -The company states in the employee handbook that ASM’s are entitled to two 30minute paid breaks or one hour paid break. At two of the three locations I worked through my break 5/6 days on average so my time and money were stolen from me -All 6 of the store managers I’ve encountered in GA and FL are toxic leaders who engage in gossip, using their phones for personal and leisure reasons, loafing around while making assistants do their work for them, choose favorites, come and go as they please not working their mandatory hours, and two of them use illegal substances while at work -Females with more experience and skills are paid significantly less than males with little or no experience at all for the same position despite them attempting to negotiate or request higher pay or fair pay -Regional and District management talks to everybody below them like they are incompetent regardless of their experience, skills or educational background because they do not care about the people who work on the bottom. They call around daily to all the stores in their region or district to pressure ASM’s to sell more and they’ll set unrealistic goals -Store managers pick and choose which rules they want the team to follow. For example they allow people to vape and smoke while working on customers cars which is strictly prohibited. At the same time they will write an ASM up for making an honest mistake such as forgetting to bring in a couple of tires that were delivered and left outside after working a busy Sunday as the only manager at the store even though it was supposed to be their day off. Just one example of several unfairly handled instances -Many nuance things at each location that make it a miserable experience for those who take pride in doing a good job in their roles
