It never gets better

Pros

The flexibility with your schedule is great, as long as you're willing to take less pay. I would say free food, but that isn't a pro if that's offered as a default benefit in any restaurant setting. When you do get another job, no matter how bad your new job is, you can think, "at least it's not Stagg McDonald's".

Cons

Low pay. Constant turn-around due to other entry level businesses offering higher entry level wages for equal or less experience. The prices of the items on the menu slowly continue to climb, yet everyone is still paid the same. The fact that the store will still be graded on the same scale as if we were completely fully staffed, yet, the grader is fully aware that there's only a handful of employees in the store. The fact that we have to take time out of our schedules to join a meeting about how we should organize our life better at home and maybe it'll improve our performance at work. The example given : "Try doing a load of laundry every day, instead of waiting to do all of your laundry on one day." Within the same meeting, We were told people quit due to attitudes, not at OUR store, but at other locations, so we need to do better...because of other stores... I've seen people fill out applications in the back for convenience stores because of the higher pay, yet it's because of our "attitudes". With as little as we make, all we have is each other's support. We are literally struggling together. Do you really expect us to believe it's because some other store did this or that. please, ma'am. Gaslighting as it's finest.

Pros

You will get to work with some pretty amazing coworkers, that make the job bearable. While a lot of customers can be a pain in the butt, you will meet some customers that never fail to put a smile on your face. The hours are flexible, and it's pretty easy road to get more hours, and to request for days off. For the most part, they will honor your availabilities.

Cons

Working at McDonalds is kinda like being in an abusive relationship, you stay because you love the people you work with, and because you want/need to get paid. However, when times get hard, and when you don't perform to their godly levels of expectation. They will treat you like trash and dirt, and you will get crap on for the stupidest, and for the silliest of reasons. It's a thankless job with little reward, and there will be days when the managers treat you like crap just because they've had a bad day. One day you are their punching bag, and the next day they can be your very best friend. It's ridiculous and downright crazy.

Toxic culture

Pros

Decent benefits, new office space

Cons

Unfortunately, the culture if extremely toxic and that comes from the Sr. Director level. There have been multiple restructures with no explanation or direction. There is no employee development, no work/life balance, you are expected to work at all hours/weekends. In nearly 3 years of being here, only 2 people have promoted and if you attempt to leave the group and explore what other opportunities McDonald's has to offer, you are met with extreme attitude and disdain.
