Great Company!

Pros

The very best and brightest people work here. Yes, the pay and benefits are out of this world, but the best thing about this place is the people. The work is challenging and fulfilling, contrary to those ridiculous and fictitious books for sale on Amazon. I could write a book (and make money) about this place too, but it doesn't mean any of it's true.

Cons

You have to be okay with not having a fancy title or a corner office. Truly not a con for me, but you have to be okay with checking your ego at the door. Everyone that works here is smart and accomplished. That's who they hire.

Pros

Benefits are not worth it! Everyone gets reeled in by the golden handcuffs, but this is such an awful place to work.

Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. No one cares about your happiness and you only exist to serve the company. HR is astonishingly proud of the fact that they changed our slogan from "A great place to work" to "A place for great work." They promote a culture of fear, which results in extreme competition. Everyone in staff and management is willing to stab you in the back to advance themselves. You can't trust anyone and always have to watch what you say.

Pros

Good benefits and excellent learning and training opportunities. Many reasonably smart individuals who made impractical choices in college (e.g. gender studies majors at Ivy U). Lots of opportunities to explore specialized skills in operations management (customer research, communications management, corporate finance). Do not take this job expecting that it leads to "any future opportunities" -- this is not a liberal arts college. It is a career builder for operations management and an opportunity to further your education with tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Management gets in the way of itself by promoting an "overmanaged" culture. Every single action or activity is structured to provide a basis for "performance assessment." As a member of management, your job is more about building cases to fire employees than business development. The business more or less manages itself, and opportunities to improve mostly stem from gaps in knowledge because of all of the turnover (>40% / year).
