Pros

Good work-life balance, good salary

Cons

-Bad Department Management -Unqualified department Management (no experience with IT or IT Audit. Therefore do not know how to lead the IT internal audit staff. Even when they had knowledgeable IT audit staff they were unaware) -Severe conflict of interest. The department reports to the CFO and he has the authority to modify reports before they go to the Audit Committee. Audit priority ratings and/or reports have been held back per the CFO's directions. -Management will isolate you and treat you mean if you're not on board with their approach even when it is incorrect or unethical -Management can be petty restricting auditors to park in the front parking lot only although both front and back are available -Management often requests help when rewriting verbiage for reports. Their direction is often unclear, inconsistent, and contradictory (verbiage may be acceptable for one report but not for another) -Management will do things to push people to quit when they don't like them despite their experience and qualifications

Pros

The location has easy access to 95/695, White Marsh Mall and The Avenue.

Cons

If you like looking over your shoulder, playing a constant guessing game about what you should test (after the audit scope, object and RACM was approved), publishing an audit report with primarily superficial conclusion(s) which will never get fixed in order to give the impression work is being done, an environment completely lacking respect, a lack of accountability or responsibility for an audit report after the review/edit (spelling and grammar mistakes as a result of edits included) process, and a CFO with complete oversight authority as to what gets reported and what doesn’t, ………….. Then this is the place for you! Don’t fret, if there isn’t a position open in the Internal Audit department right now, there will be soon. The continuous turnover is not a coincidence.
