      Great place to work, as long as you don't want to advance your career!

      Pros

      It is a community based hospital with comparitively little crime or uninsured clients. The hospital staff is small enough that all departments are friendly with each other and know each other on a first name basis. It is not a teaching hospital so there are no residents to deal with and less egos to tame. The education department really guides the new hires and ensures proper training of new-hires. The ER nurses and physicians work well together; it is a very cohesive team.

      Cons

      The upper management of the nursing staff are all best friends and there seems to be a lot of nepitism. Hours get cut on the drop of a dime to save a dime! There are not many financial resources since we are a small hospital.

      Flexible scheduling, good pay, ability to become familiar with non-retail pharmacy inventory (i.e. antibiotics, CKD medications, etc)

      Cons

      Early hours (6a-2p shift); typically can only work weekends given scheduling conflicts with class
