Pros

Decent coworkers Pay has improved since I left

Cons

I was hired as a bartender then told after a month they wouldn't be training me to be a bartender. The next day I went in and they had me cover the bar with like 10 minutes of training and not being compensated for that position They fired a lead for complaining about changing the payday with no warning causing employees to be behind on payments

Pros

Better Customer Base / Good Food / Discounts at Oak & Pie Restaurant / Nice Owner

Cons

Terrible Management (The management is absolutely horrendous because they have no method of standardization among all the locations. You will go to one store and learn the way things work and completely throw it out the window at another store) Extremely Bad Work Ethic Environment (They do not do that good of a job vetting people before allowing them to join Meddy's. They hire just about anyone because of their extremely high turn-over rate. Because of this, they end up hiring people who are either lazy, or do not have quality work ethic that leads to a lot of tasks having to be redone. A lot of times the managers are just going to delegate even more tasks to the people actually getting things done because they are too lazy to do it themselves.) There are so many internal conflicts between staff members that lead to making each day just miserable. Extremely High Turn-Over Rate (A lot of people end up leaving because of the bad managerial environment or because they are burned out.) People end up having to work 5-7 doubles in a row to keep up with the fact that there just isn't people available to work shifts. There are many occasions throughout each week where each store is understaffed and is filled by people who don't even work in the restaurant side of things but work in back office. Mediocre pay that is subject to change at a whim (Their payment structure is set up where if you are full time, you are guarantied a minimum of $20/hr where you get $14/hr plus tips and if tips exceed $20 then you get paid more an hour. However if tips are not meeting or exceeding $20 then you are paid the $20 minimum.) Tips are split among all members from every store and I have never seen it exceed $21 even though we get tipped very regularly. Part-Time gets paid $15/hr and it honestly isn't worth it. You can get paid more for the amount of labor you are tasked with working literally anywhere else. Not That Great Work Benefits (If you work full time, then after two months you get medical and dental/vision. Part time does not receive any benefits.) The only discount you get is 25% off the menu when you dine in and 50% after you work a shift. If you work 5+ hours in a day you get a free meal. That is all there is to it. Lack of Attention to Local Issues Needing Addressed (As of 8/6/2023, Meddy's is currently looking to expand to 5 locations in Kansas City. Because of this, they are hardly providing any attention to the stores located in Wichita and they are full of issues.) Many times the store leaks A/C condensation on multiple tables causing water to hit the customers food and faces. Other issues like needing the ovens to be replaced or the water spouts to be fixed take days to be looked at. Management is just awful.
