Pros

There are alot of good things to say in a company that thrives on and grows young professionals. The people who you will work with become very close, and you learn how to function in a high energy office environment.

Cons

People who post good reviews say things here like "the hours can be a bit hectic" or "if you're not willing to work hard then this isnt the job for you." False. Hectic implies that you are full of frantic activity. This was not always the case. Working hard does not necessarily imply that you have to work long, but that is what you will do. 7:30am to 6:30pm. Add a 35+ minute commute to get out to Lombard (the concrete jungle) and you have a 12 hour + work day every day. Even though technically its 9-5, the long hours are expected of you to prove you want to work there. Even when towards the 5pm mark everything Slowwwwwws down and you are literally ticking the seconds before its not frowned on to leave. And then you have to show you REALLY care by occasional weekends. It didn't help the psychological morale that the environment you work in si called "the Pit." Do you know what else is called "the Pit?" Hell. Hell is a pit. I've read they instated a leave early twice a week to work out option, which mercy me would have been a lifesaver back when I started. Ultimately, I wanted to tear off my own face. Obviously not the right fit for me. At 32k a year, it wasn't a difficult separation. There were some people who this is a good fit for, which for the love of me made me feel kind of insane, but good luck to them. There is a slippery slope here with the age of the people working. You could only really pull this kind of stuff on bright eyed and bushy tailed recent grads, but then they do train you well in the art of business and they tolerate everyone binge drinking after work. So hey! Need a job and only a job for your life to be meaningful?

Pros

The company is always looking for innovative ways to grow as an organization, providing us all with more opportunity. Upper management is devoted to the happiness of their employees. Open door policy allows any employee to approach anyone in management and provide suggestions and feedback surrounding any topic. I LOVE that the company provides you the freedom to determine the best means necessary to perform your job. From day one, I was told by my boss that no one will know the best way to get my job done other than me and for me to feel free to take reign and determine what works for me. Medix Fit (which has been mentioned numerous times already), but who can complain about a company that supports a healthy life! Upper management has taken a general interest in getting to know me as a person (my hobbies, my background, meeting my family when they are in town to visit, etc) and I am very appreciative that I am not just an employee here. Management has gone above and beyond to treat others how they would like to be treated.

Cons

As with every company, there are a couple of downsides. Being a perfectionist, I require feedback regarding my performance all the time! For me, this constant feedback is reassuring. That being said, feedback is far and few between here unless the employee is far BELOW the expectations. Management has made an effort to change this reputation and has been providing more positive feedback on a weekly basis. The other con to working here is with the young age of the employees working within the organization. Although I love working with others relative to my age, it can come across rather dramatic sometimes.
