Pros

quality training and motivation for further education and advancement. Managers and hospital as a whole really push extra education and skills training so nurses can maintain good skills

Cons

House Supervisor-yes house supervisor, was the one pushing nursing ratios to accommodate patients. Hard to fight against the nurse supervisor when you're drowning in patients. Terrible management styles on some of the nursing units. Sadly, most of the units are racially segregated. I worked on 5th floor as a Caucasian with 90% of the nurses being Filipino. Most of them spoke their native language unless around a patient (even when asked a question in English). A new nurse or any race other than Filipino have the most difficult time learning unit routines and going to the managers with issues due to their race. Very sad. One nursing coordinator is a caucasian woman and that was the only person that listened to the needs of the nurses that weren't Filipino.

Pros

Not many, patients suffer as a result. The organization needs to focus on patient care rather than trying to develop new ACO schemes to try to get rich quick.

Cons

Employees terminated without cause because of a high school attitude in managing the company. Projects are often late and expense always seems to be and issue. The company many is always in a cash crunch due to incompetent financial mismanagement resulting in frequent layoffs or outright terminations. HR is managed on a favoritism basis with some employees getting treated well while others are punished for being 5 mins. late and getting written up. A revolving door for contractors with nobody being kept longer for 4 or 5 months.
