Pros

MemoryBlue offers a fun and energetic culture, structured sales training program, and a strong opportunity for promotion and career advancement. I was on my account for less then three months before I had the opportunity to work directly for my client in house. I've been in sales and maketing for over 9 years and this was by far one of the best opportunities I've had.

Cons

The starting salary is competitive among other outsource marketing venders, but isn't what you would expect to make working in-house for a software or technology company. With that said, there was plenty of opportunities for raises and commission.

Thanks for your open and honest feedback. We're proud of the atmosphere and opportunities we create here, but it's always good to hear about it directly from former team members. Best of luck in your next career step - it sounds like you're on a terrific path forward in tech sales.

Pros

You are surrounded by loads of people very similar to yourself and can leverage their skills to really make yourself the best salesman possible. You You'll get to work with the major high-tech trending technologies such as data storage, cyber, cloud, etc.. and be prepared for the next level

Cons

If you get put on a PPM client, you're screwed. They don't put any effort into the firm and the reps on the accounts are literally booking meetings for no purpose. Aside from that, depending on client turnover, you can make it through your entire memoryBlue tenure without ever earning a raise or receiving a bonus - and at their salary, it is not enough to live off of. The culture has steadily gone downhill to where their "alumni" program isn't even a sought after achievement, most of the SDRs I worked with wanted to get out of the door by any means necessary after 3-6 months

Thanks for posting your anonymous feedback in this forum. The SDR role at memoryBlue is without question a tough and highly rewarding opening into the world of high tech sales – a very difficult world to crack into. We’ve had a hand in placing over 200 Alumni in that sales world so far and that number is going up every year. In fact, we’re currently posting a series of interviews with some of these standout sales pros on our blog highlighting how valuable their careers in this profession have been (and what starting at memoryBlue meant to those careers). The training, experience, knowledge and skills our early-career professionals receive carries incredible value as our employees launch into this space for good. Blaming a lack of sales success on bad luck is certainly anyone’s right, but it would seem hard to believe that a rep was expecting raises and hefty bonuses when their performance led to high client turnover (which sounds like was the case for you). Maintaining a focus on employee growth and business growth go hand-in-hand here and we are proud to do both at all times. We do hope you’ll stick with sales and find a place where you can work hard and hustle. In this profession, you’ll make or break your career based on the effort and commitment you’re willing to put in.

Pros

-work ethic: lot of calls / emails -good culture: fun co workers majority being in early 20s

Cons

-bad habits: tell you to book any and every meeting even if they're useless to client's AEs -unrealistic quotas make it impossible to raise your salary -no commission of any sort -no structure whatsoever, no guidelines -no formal training: "training" is listening to a recording -try to put you on "contract" when California is at-will employment makes no sense
