Pros

I worked for memoryBlue for about 3 years. I was a college graduate, coming out of retail, desperate to find that "foot in the door." One of their recruiters reached out to me and after the first interview I was incredibly intrigued! Sure they had a "contract" but if I couldn't do this job for a year and a half then maybe sales just wasn't for me. Before I continue...There are some great reviews and there are some not so great reviews here. Keep in mind, that THIS IS TECH SALES!!! It's not a walk in the park!!! You are going to have to work nights, weekends, long hours and you are going to have to grind! If you read the negative reviews, it's only people making excuses for their lack of performance and not taking the bull by the horns and immersing themselves in the experience (I mean, they had to resort to an online review to give their opinions, no one else would listen). This being said, I was looking for a better quality of life and memoryBlue delivered! Not only was I going to have a pretty steady schedule but they were going to invest in me with their training! While no one is perfect, I would say I can now run circles around my competition and win most sales I pursue. This isn't by accident. This was because of the exposure and training that memoryBlue provided me. Not only was I training constantly with the memoryBlue team, I was reading sales books in my spare time and networking with my clients. (This is what unsuccessful SDRs simply won't do.) Pros: - The networking within the industry - The constant training (but you have to want the training) - The fun and friendly atmosphere - Friendly competition (Seriously, if you are a competitive person then this is the right place for you.) - Marc, Chris and the rest of the leadership team Simply put: If you are looking for somewhere to start your career, learn as much as you possibly can and build a steady foundation for your career, memoryBlue is the right place for you.

Cons

Are you perfect? I know I am not and no one really is. Everyone has things to work on and memoryBlue is no exception. The company could definitely provide more tools to it's employees. For example, SDR's definitely need more access to list building tools and training on how to list build. Managers need more tools and processes on how to manage and train the SDRs. Perhaps the most difficult part on the managers is the high level of positive turnover. Once they have someone trained that person is then on their way out! Providing the managers with more structure and processes could alleviate some of the stress associated with this churn. Having a high level of focus is incredibly important for this job due to the office's tendency to get a little rowdy!! But is having fun while working a real con? Probably not.

Pros

Amazing owners/management. Chris and Marc are always open to sharing tips and advice, and they care about the SDRs success as well as the company. Working open door policy makes you feel like a valued member of the team. Culture club: there is definitely a young community at memoryblue, but they work to find company activities that are engaging, and morale boosting Opportunities. Between the diverse clientele and (depending on your work ethic and manager) flexibility in style of work, there are a lot of intriguing opportunities: some people work on-site with clients once or twice a week. I was able to go to a few trade shows and face-to-face meetings with my client People: I found that I liked the people I worked with way more than I expected. Training: they tell you you will get a lot of training, and you will. Just be sure to ask questions and make yourself available, because nothing will happen purely organically. The model: I worked here for 4.5 months before being "hired out", which is sort of the whole goal of working at memoryBlue. It is not a position for working at two, three years, unless you go into management or something. They encourage upward/outward mobility, and in my experience, help prepare you for it.

Cons

Heavily metrics based. If you're not the kind of individual who is motivated by metrics, you might have to find an additional way to motivate yourself. (my manager was Frank, and he was very flexible with me when I explained my work style and work ethic and what I needed to be successful) Low salary. My recommendation is to work hard, and get hired out! And put in the hours for the promotion. There's not always a lot of transparency. The company was growing rapidly while I was there and there was a period of rapid change and transition that sort of came as a surprise. I think, because of the nature of the ever-changing employees and clientele, it is easy for management to stay sort of hush on some things. That being said, I found that my manager always wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to ask questions and get clarity, even if it was after the fact. You have no control over which client you get and sometimes they are less than ideal. Take it in stride as a learning opportunity! Advice to employees: remember it is a grown up job, even with the game room and young atmosphere. Be responsible and do your job, ask questions and look for learning, training, and enrichment opportunities. It's not the easiest job, but it is what they say it is in the interviews. Have fun!

Pros

There are some really great clients and managers work hard to make sure that each person fits with their client. The mentorship program is great. Your mentor is at your disposal and they can make or break the beginning of the job. Use and abuse it. Weekly call evaluations are some of the best things at memoryBlue. Comments and critiques are well thought-out and everyone really does work on helping their colleagues become a better sales person. There is a real teamwork aspect in the office and you will grow as a salesperson if you take advantage of it. If you work hard, you WILL leave with a great client as well as leave being a better salesperson. I left 1,000% better than coming in. I have taken what I learned at memoryBlue and apply it to my new job everyday.

Cons

The office is very small and often very loud. This can make getting work done difficult sometimes. Also, due to a lack of sick days and pushy management, people often come into work sick, which spreads like wildfire in a cramped office. Quotas can often be hard to make and the pay really isn't that great. There are some good incentives but you really have to work to get the. It boils down to if you don't put in the work, you don't get the pay. The office is very young, mostly under 25, so the atmosphere tends to be a lot like a frat house. It's a great learning experience if that's not what your used to.
