Pros

It has good pay and is a relatively easy job. Usually can get days off as long as you request them off in advance.

Cons

Worst management I've ever experienced, managers would be rude and harass you because they have to do their job when they'd rather stand around and talk. I was constantly scheduled outside of my availability when asked for it fixed they always asked if I was sure I couldn't work then(no harm in asking) but when I answered no I would "lose brownie points" with them. I was scheduled full time multiple times as a part time. Managers played favorites and treated everyone else awfully. Not to mention awful customers, rude people are to be expected in retail but the amount of harassment and amount of times I've been touched without permission or flirted with as a minor is disgusting I had absolutely no support or help from managers when customers were harassing me. Probably would have had a better experience if I worked in a different department but they did not give me much opportunity to transfer because of how many people had already transferred due to the awful treatment in the front end.

Pros

You have a job that you get paid for. Coffee shop on site. The coworkers were nice! Theoretically, this could be a good stepping stone in your career.

Cons

Good GOD I hated this job. They are sticklers for being on time, you have to clock in like you're an hourly employee even if you're salaried. You have to clock out anytime you take a break, like thank you for having a coffee shop on site but why do I have to clock out to go get a coffee? I'm off the clock and paying you? Their system is also so outdated and takes a while to get the hang of. If you are a creative person, you will not do well here. The work is very boring. I guess this is personal preference on my end, I didn't love the work.

Pros

The people you work with that aren't management/supervisors. You will like shopping there when your not working as it is more affordable then competing hardware stores

Cons

The micromanagement...thats says plenty...will watch you like a hawk, Roaming down aisles lurking to make sure your not doing something as simple as talking WHILE your working...they don't like that an you will be reprimanded. That store (Livonia, MI) is often the hardest hit store as far as customer volume an the management doesn't appreciate their employees despite this. They care more about the numbers an not the employees keeping their "numbers" high. Constant work overload of pallets/heavy lifting. They will make you run register even if it's not your department or initially what you were highered in to do so.
