Pros

Not much to talk about.

Cons

Everything is a CON. Constantly lieing to drivers, rude people, favoritism to to the big house knee padders. Cheap rates. More interested in van loads than anything else. Lieing scaming agents. Poor management, poor planners, CHEAP RATES, CHEAP RATES, CHEAP RATES Want to go broke come work here. SAEFTY rating in the upper 90s very poor. When long standing senior drivers of many years of service start to abandon ship you know things are bad. Very high turnover rate. They will lie right to your face or over the phone. They will tell you they have lots of frieght with good rates Wich is crap. $1.20 is not good rates. The lies start from recruiting all the way to SAEFTY and operations. If you have a family and bills don't work here. If you only want to make a little money and work part time because you sit more than you run then come on board. Be prepared to install an ELD at your expense and in the future have your truck speed governed. Because MERCER will do everything the Government wants them to do even if it's not LAW. They will say this company is not for everyone but what's the exscuse when most of thier senior drivers have quit in the last couple of years. If your one of thier pet drivers and willing to get on your knees you'll go far. It's not who you know it's who you blow. Those that claim they are doing good are rookies with no experience or those that run locally or on dedicated which they claim they don't have dedicated loads. Making chump change a week isn't good money. Rates from less than $1 up to maybe $1.50 on average nationwide. Sure some pay $2 or more if you want to only run a couple miles with a heavy load that also tarps. Less 300 miles the higher the pay per mile. More miles the less it pays per mile and the heavier it gets. I've seen .98 cents mile for a lumber load 48000 and 8 ft tarp SO stear clear. Find somewere else to put your truck because you'll starve if you come to mercer.

Pros

Mercer is starting to act like a family again. Things changed for awhile and it seemed like they no longer cared about the employees. That has started to change. Truck Operations Management is more caring and approachable. This si the best HR department we've ever had. She gets things done and tries to always show the employees she cares. She's done things for employees that we have never seen. Favoritism seems to be a thing of the past although there are a few that maybe didn't deserve tehir positions. the pay and reviews is improving also.

Cons

it's hard to keep drivers with all the IT problems. If the system is down or not working correctly it makes our job more difficult trying to keep them happy.
