Pros

My co-workers were great. That's about all I can think of for the pros side.

Cons

Where do I begin? First, I question the few "good" recent reviews published on this site as being written by anyone other than management trying to get their score increased. I don't know of anyone in any position across the board who is happy there right now. Mercury used to be a good company to work for. In the past 2-3 years it's gone downhill fast. People are over worked, super stressed, unappreciated, underpaid and literally everyone hates being there. Upper management couldn't care less about their employees. The raises are laughable and the bonuses are less and less year after year. I've seen 3 major layoffs and only stayed as long as I did hoping to get laid off myself so I could get a nice severance and then be on my way. HC is a joke-- implementing huddle cards and high 5's as a way to reward adults--it's offensive. I send my condolences to George Joseph in regards to the way a company he worked hard to build has been run into the ground.

Pros

Good benefits, good sense of camaraderie, they send you little gifts like nuts and cookies occasionally

Cons

Salaries are WAY too low for the job. They do not replace workers who leave, just shovel more work and responsibilities on those who are still there. There are hardly any opportunities for promotion or upward movement in the company, and when a posting outside of claims comes up there are so many applicants your chances are slim unless you have a connection in that department. The salary does not justify the position, and claims adjusters here are miserable. I’m actively looking for other employment.
