Pros

Good benefits. Nice facilities. Some prayer

Cons

Big Healthcare feel. Impersonal. Hr team and leadership are not coworker friendly. We were millions in the green last year but increase in pay was denied for all mid level leadership. We were told that we were hired to do a job at a certain rate of pay and if we were not happy with it, maybe this wasn't the place for us. Small raises. 2.5% is the most common per year. You have to be like Jesus to get a 4% raise and they will literally tell you that. Takes forever to get things done that are needed. Executive leadership plays favorites and trains mid level leaders to do the same. Patients are valued at a $ amount and physicians are overworked. Midlevels do the job of 2.5 people and are paid low.

Pros

You get insurance and paid time off.

Cons

Your first four days of being sick drains your pto. My asthma inhaler was 300 with their insurance. It was never that high with other companies. There was a lot of negativity on my unit. It was very childish at times. I never felt accomplished or happy while working there. I cried my first week, just from medical assistants that had been there a long time micromanaging you when you first start. It was very overwhelming. You stand in one spot 50 Percent of the day waiting for patients to check in. Once they check in your gets their vitals and go over their med list, and also room them. After they leave you wipe down the room and clean the supplies. Every doctor wants something different and it is hard to keep track of as a new employee. They give you a huge hinder or dos and don’ts. It is on the fifth floor of the surgery center in the same lot as main campus, and the ceiling often leaked. The patients were nice. Management seemed gossipy and childish as well. It was a strange environment. Everyone was quitting when I first started so no one cared to really train me, and instead I just had to listen to negative comments for 8 hours. There is limited seating in the nursing pods, and doctors get the seats, so that’s why you are standing so much. I am fine with walking but standing in one spot is uncomfortable. The scrubs are extremely expensive and you have to buy the Mercy ones. I was not impressed with this company. I left after a month due to the negative environment being so bad.

Pros

So-so health insurance Healthcare insurance premium assistance Co-worker crisis fund for emergency situations

Cons

Working for the Mercy call center has gone from being a great job to watching all of the good employees who have been around a long time get up and leave. The new management the call center is under only seems to know how to harass or act rudely. Pay raises are pathetic (2% MAXIMUM - and that's if they think you're perfect). Do yourself a favor and find a different place to work.
