Pros

Providing our patients with the best meal I can, working with some wonderful people, and being respected by the admin staff. Could really be a great place to work.

Cons

The nutrition dept itself is the stuff of nightmares. There are different rules for different people, bullying is openly tolerated, and the supervisor is a malignant narcissist.

The best way to grow and get better is to listen, so please know we value your detailed feedback! And we truly appreciate you taking the time to reach out and help us improve. Furthermore, bullying is a very serious allegation which we will investigate internally. We do not tolerate or encourage such behavior at Mercy and strongly believe our leaders should never put co-workers in uncomfortable and disrespected situations. We would like to hear more from you on this so please do reach out to us at mercyrecruitmentfeed@mercy.net.

Pros

Making friends and memories with the good coworkers, helping friendly patients and building relationships with them

Cons

patients can be disrespectful and yell at you, throw things at you/assault you and you cant do anything about it and management wont either. was hired on and told that I only needed 1 year of medical experience and once that was completed I could promote to PAR 3, that was a lie. shady and disrespectful coworkers, drama, HIPAA violations, underpaid, minimal raises because the highest rating on yearly evaluations is 4/5 because we're not perfect-"only God is perfect," you rate and complete your own eval and the manager then just comments on why you aren't a 5/5. Holiday pay comes from your PTO, sad and poor clinic management, float employees get treated terribly at clinics, manager refuses OT, Mercy laid off tons of employees due to COVID and the rest of us are overworked with no compensation. manager opened up excessive phone lines (it's jamming up the network and causing phone, fax, and computer issues all on one network) with only 2 people working the front desk (answering phones-checking patients in and out for appointments-scheduling-filing-faxing-copying-screening patients for COVID at front door). manager REQUIRES you to literally CALL them to call out sick (other managers are okay with text/email). management makes up their own rules for Mercy policies, HR policies, HIPAA policies, and office policies.

Pros

Great Benefits, Most supervisors care, work/life balance, coming around to making remote work normal

Cons

Decisions to remove people usually are purely financial, which may seem okay, but when you get rid of someone just because they were paid a certain amount instead of getting rid of people that are not being productive and fight the organization's push for change, there's a problem.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We appreciate and value all our co-worker’s feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve and you are a valued part of this process. Like other health care systems across the country, Mercy had to take difficult steps to address the heavy economic consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. We’ve taken proactive measures to provide the necessary care for our co-workers and their families. Our hearts go out to those impacted by these changes and the unprecedented impact of this global pandemic. If you have any further feedback to share, please email us at mercyrecruitmentfeed@mercy.net. We hope you have a blessed day!
