Pros

Close proximity to my house.

Cons

Wesley used to be a great place to work--not any more..... They care nothing about patient or staff safety. Frequently have inadequate and unsafe staffing. Very poor education/orientation for new staff. High turnover rate and lots of new/inexperienced staff. This place has really gone down hill in the past few years since Community Health Systems and the CEO and CNO came along.

I enjoy working at a smaller community hospital with a slower pace, I've spent my time in large hospitals.

Pros

The pay was decent for the area and the workload is fairly easy. If you have worked at large, fast-paced hospitals and are ready to slow down and take it easy then Wesley may be the place for you. There is an excellent cardiac team of doctors and an excellent cardiothoracic surgeon at Wesley.

Cons

There is not a great relationship between management and staff, poor communication and there is no one willing to go to bat for the staff nurses. There always seems to be changes rolling out that always impact nursing in a negative manner, be it creating more work or delegation of more responsibility...all for no extra money or incentive.
