Pros

The culture of this company is great and everyone I work with is amazing. I've been with this company for over a year, and I have seen many changes along the way. The environment is young, competitive and fast paced. We have lots of growth and lots of cool new projects coming in the horizon. Management is new so they are growing with the rest of the Division, which also means window of opportunities. Meetings which explain our products are very common and a great way to learn about our industry, especially since we are the Leaders in Energy-efficient homes.

Cons

The only issue I have is lack of training and the Health Insurance. But the division is small, compared to the company as a whole , but I guess that's the way it goes, when the division starts growing. New positions get added and we learn as we grow. Wrong information can be relayed by individuals that have one foot out the door. Healthcare program is very weak, wish it could be better.

Pros

First and foremost, I absolutely appreciate the way management is constantly encouraging cross training and individual development. There's always an opportunity to grow within a current position or to branch out in other departments. Personally, I received a promotion after only being with Meritage for 9 months! It is an extremely friendly work environment which lends itself to comradery among employees. This allows for the sharing of information on how other departments function and interrelate with each other. I am always happy to lend a hand to other areas because it's an opportunity to learn something new and different.

Cons

If you can call this a negative, there are a lot of company gatherings which sometimes interfere with work flow process when I'd rather be working......

Pros

Overall positive culture of the company, its divisions and employees. Satisfaction of building energy efficient homes, doing it well and with focus on innovation. Offers opportunity to develop and advance beyond current position if you're willing to put in the effort. Benefits are good and bonuses are achievable.

Cons

None different than any other publicly traded production builder. Fiscal year end is December 31, which can make completing homes at holiday time a challenge.
