      Pros

      Family oriented company. Advancement oppurtunities. Great salary. It just feels like a team here.

      Cons

      End of year can sometimes be a little hectic. However, it pales in comparison to the advantages of working here.

      Pros

      They encourage individual growth. I have been able to take courses related to my position for certifications and they have never denied paying for them. They encourage health and work balance. I have been with the company 6 years and have advanced in position due to the leadership recognizing my potential. The 401k match is generous and with many companies not doing any match we are very fortunate. They listen to the employees concerns and try to accomodate them if possible.

      Cons

      Meritage is a publicly held company and therefore there are a lot of regulations we deal with regarding information and securities. However the advantages to being a public company outweigh these concerns.

      Pros

      During my tenure at Meritage I have witnessed a strong commitment for employee growth and the determination to keep its values in the forefront of how the company is run. Senior Leadership is engaged with everyday business and while they might "ruffle" some feathers, this is the approach needed to run a successful business.

      Cons

      Lots of hoops to go through to do your job, but no different than many publicly traded homebuilders.
